Is Korean proficiency important for admission?
The Korean language courses in the regular program of the Korean Language Education Center (KLEC) at the Language Education Institution (LEI) are divided into a total of 7 levels (Levels 1-6 and Advanced Academic Class). Students are accurately assessed in terms of their Korean proficiency through the placement test before the beginning of the classes and therefore can take courses that are geared to their respective levels. As for applicants with no prior knowledge of Korean whatsoever, if they contact the KLEC office in advance, they will be automatically assigned to level 1 classes without having to take the placement test.
