Tailored Program

1. Malaysian Students Program

  • The Malaysian Program is an educational program dedicated to developing the Korean language proficiency required for Malaysian government scholarship recipients to gain admission to universities in Korea specializing in materials science and engineering. Since September 2000, approximately 40 scholarship recipients each year have enrolled in major engineering universities in Korea after completing intermediate-to-advanced Korean language training and foundational engineering courses at the Seoul National University Korean Language Education Center. Over a total period of 1 year and 8 months, students first study basic Korean in Malaysia for approximately 8 months. After completing this stage, they travel to Korea to finish the remaining one year, during which they take intermediate Korean language courses while acquiring foundational knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology (IT), and marketing, depending on their chosen major.

2. SNU College Korean Language Program (SNU-CKLP)

  • This program is an educational consignment course designed to provide Korean language education and cultural experience opportunities for students admitted through the Global Talent Special Admission Track. First established in March of 2025, the program operates twice a year in the Spring and Fall semesters according to the Seoul National University academic calendar. The course facilitates students' adjustment to university life while enhancing learning outcomes by providing classes and cultural experiences personalized to students’ Korean proficiency level, as well as the help of SNU student buddies and teaching assistants.

3. Rice in Korea Program

  • This program is a Korean language and cultural immersion program for students from Rice University in the United States. Established in May 2025, the program offers Rice University students the opportunity to spend six weeks in Korea during their summer vacation. Participants study the Korean language while engaging in a wide range of cultural experiences, including taekwondo, K-pop, and Korean cuisine. The program also features visits to iconic cultural and historical sites such as Bukchon Hanok Village, the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), and the Korean Folk Village.

4. Korean Language Summer Program for The Japanese School in Seoul

  • This five-day summer program is offered annually for Japanese teachers at The Japanese School in Seoul. Participants learn basic Korean through an intensive short-term language course. Those who successfully complete the program are awarded a Certificate of Completion.

5. Dream Together Master Program

  • This program is a Korean language course designed for recipients of the Dream Together Master (DTM) Scholarship at Seoul National University. It aims to develop participants' foundational Korean communication skills and the language proficiency needed for their academic studies and everyday life. The curriculum covers practical, everyday topics and the use of public facilities, helping students adapt successfully to university life and Korean society.
